Description
The Mauser action may have been used for more custom rifle builds than any other in the 20th century. It was strong and adopted by militaries all across the world, leading to a strong cottage industry of after-market parts for caliber conversion and turning military rifles into sporting rifles. This example, though, takes it a little further. The receiver has been cut, the middle portion removed, and re-welded to shorten the action enough for use with .45 ACP. It now has a four-round internal magazine and is chambered for a popular pistol-caliber cartridge which should be very pleasant to shoot. With its 16 1/8″ barrel, the gun is lightweight and fast-handling with sights that come up quickly and naturally. It’s an aesthetically pleasing rifle with its octagonal barrel, octagonal profile bolt knob and engraved bottom metal. Its M.H. Canjar trigger and shoe make for a nice trigger pull. All in all, this should be a fun little plinker that can be used to take small game with a fairly inexpensive cartridge.
The action functions correctly and rifle retains about 95% of its current metal finish.
Overall, this rifle is in about Very Good condition as customized.
