Man fatally shot after entering home uninvited with gun, deputies say

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. —

A man was fatally shot after he went into a home uninvited with a gun, according to Chief Deputy Creed Hashe with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies got a report about 9 p.m. Tuesday of a man who had been shot at a home on Walker Street, Hashe said.

He said deputies found man in the home with multiple injuries consistent with gunshot wounds and the man was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Witnesses told deputies that the man, who did not live there, came to the home armed with a gun and a confrontation started between him and another person, according to Hashe.

The witnesses told deputies multiple rounds were fired. At least five adults were in the home when the shots were fired, Hashe said.

Hashe said detectives found two handguns along with spent shell casings inside the home.

No arrests have been made and the victim has not been identified.
