Review: Case Club Waterproof 4 Pistol Case

I was looking for a good case to house at least 4 pistols for traveling.  I wanted it to comply with state and local laws as well as TSA commercial airline laws. I needed something durable that could take a bit of a beating in the back of a pickup truck while keeping my pistols from being damaged.

When the case arrived, I was super excited.  Right away I began plucking the filler foam out and starting putting my pistols in.  Below is a photo I took not even 30 minutes after it arrived.  I wasn’t even done plucking the magazine slot foam yet!

Below I have listed the specs of the Case Club Waterproof 4 Pistol Case.

-Holds up to 4 pistols with 16 extra magazines & included silica gel

-Case has a lifetime warranty & is 100% Waterproof, & Dust-proof

-Foam insert is (closed cell) military grade polyethylene which can be wiped clean

-Case is Airline Approved for checked luggage & padlockable

-Max length of pistols is 8 5/8″ & not intended for revolvers

The front latches have built in childproof spin locks that can be turned so the latches cannot be lifted open. I thought this was great for small curious children.

I put everything from a M&P Shield to a full size .45 1911 in the case and they all fit nicely.  The 16 magazine slots are more than enough.  Just be sure you don’t travel with any ammunition in the case or magazines.

The price tag is anywhere from $150-$175 depending on where you buy it.  I bought mine on Amazon for $154 and I feel the price is fair.  Considering not only will I be using it for travel, but also for storage.  This case works great for storing Glock pistols I built using the Polymer80 frames that don’t have a case or box.

Overall, what makes these cases is the foam insert.  It exceeded my expectations and the foam is durable, not easily damaged.  It takes a lot just to rip the foam so you don’t need to worry about ripping it with sights and pointy objects.  However, if you place items on the foam for long periods of time, the foam will form to it and can take a while to form back to the original shape.  This is the only minor con I could think of!

    1. Thanks Kevin! I only do reviews on products that I really like and this one deserved it. I am working with a new startup company that makes cases similar to these and I am looking forward to reviewing those in the near future.

  1. I’ve heard airline approved before but what does that mean exactly? Does not placing it in lock box without ammo work anymore?
